This tutorial will help you if the WhatSender extension keeps loading, freezes, responds very slowly, or takes too long to process sends.
This can happen for several reasons: temporary data accumulated in the extension, settings changed by mistake, too many sends saved in the history, or very heavy attachments.
Before you start: identify what is happening
Before applying a solution, identify which of these situations applies to your case:
- WhatSender keeps loading and does not finish opening.
- The extension freezes or stops responding.
- The extension opens, but works very slowly.
- Messages take too long to send.
- Sends with attachments take much longer than usual.
If the problem mainly happens when you send attachments, the cause may be the file size or the configured sending time. In that case, also review this tutorial: https://support.what-sender.com/en/issue-with-sending-attachments/
Solution 1: clear WhatSender’s memory
The most common cause of slowness or freezing is accumulated temporary data in the extension.
WhatSender stores information from your sends in the browser memory so it can work correctly. Over time, especially if you send many messages or many attachments, this data can accumulate and make the extension slower.
To fix this, you can clear the memory from the User tab.
Before doing this, keep in mind that this action will delete the history saved in the extension.
If you need to keep your reports, download them first from the History tab. You can follow this tutorial: https://support.what-sender.com/en/history-tab-report-download/
To clear the memory:
- Open WhatSender.
- Go to the User tab.
- Scroll down to the advanced settings section.
- Click Clear memory.
- Close and reopen WhatSender.
- Log in again from the User tab if the extension asks you to.

Run a send with a small number of contacts.
If you send many messages or frequently send attachments, we recommend clearing the memory approximately every 15 days.
Solution 2: reset the extension settings
If you changed any setting by mistake, this can also make WhatSender run slowly, freeze, or not work correctly.
To restore the recommended settings:
- Open WhatSender.
- Go to the User tab.
- Scroll down to the advanced settings.
- Click Reset config.
- Do not change any other options after resetting.
- Close and reopen WhatSender.
Run a test send.
This helps restore the recommended values for the extension.
Solution 3: check if you are sending very heavy attachments
If WhatSender only becomes slow when you send attachments, the problem is probably related to the file size.
When you send an attachment, WhatsApp Web needs to upload that file every time it sends it to a contact. That is why heavy attachments can make the send take much longer.
Under normal conditions, each message should take approximately up to 10 seconds to send. This timing helps respect WhatsApp’s sending rhythm and avoid behaviors that may generate blocks.
However, if you are sending large files, heavy images, PDFs, or videos, the send may take longer than usual.
To avoid this:
- Use files under 2 MB whenever possible.
- Compress images before sending them.
- Compress PDFs if they are too large.
- Avoid sending videos as attachments.
If you need to share a video, upload it to YouTube, Google Drive, OneDrive, or another platform and send the link inside the message.
You can review this specific guide about attachment issues: https://support.what-sender.com/en/issue-with-sending-attachments/
Solution 4: close unnecessary tabs and reopen WhatsApp Web
If you have many Chrome tabs open, other extensions active, or WhatsApp Web has been open for a long time, the browser may use more memory and make WhatSender work more slowly. Apply Solution 1 first.
Then, perform a clean send:
- Close the tabs you are not using.
- Close WhatsApp Web.
- Close WhatSender.
- Open WhatsApp Web again.
- Wait until it fully loads.
- Open WhatSender again.
- Run a test with a small number of contacts.
This can help if the problem is related to browser performance.
Solution 5: check your internet connection
If the extension opens correctly but sends move very slowly, there may also be a connection problem.
An unstable connection can make WhatsApp Web take longer to load messages, attachments, or contacts.
To check this:
- Make sure you have a stable connection.
- Avoid large sends if your internet is slow.
- Do not send heavy attachments if your connection is unstable.
- First, run a test with a small number of contacts and no attachments.
If sending works well without attachments, but becomes slow when you add them, review the attachment guide again.
Still need help?
If WhatSender still keeps loading, freezes, or works very slowly after following these steps, we can review your case individually.
To help you better, we need you to send us a video showing the problem. Without a visual reference, it is difficult to identify what is going wrong.
In the video, we need to clearly see:
- How you import or copy the contacts into WhatSender. It is important that the numbers are clearly visible.
- How your User tab is configured. Please scroll down so we can see the full configuration.
- How you write and configure the message before sending it.
- What happens during the sending process in the History tab. This tab must be open and visible, not minimized.
- It is also important that, if you are using attachments, we can see how you upload them and what type of file you are sending.
To record the video, you can use a free tool such as Loom. Here is the tutorial with the instructions.
Before sending us the video, please review it. If you cannot clearly see the extension, the numbers, and the actions you are taking, we will not be able to see them clearly either. With a clear and complete video, we will be able to better identify the error and help you find a solution.
Then, send us the video through our contact form: contact support.
Our team will review your case and reply within approximately 1 to 2 business days, Monday to Friday.
